I was able to complete three training races in March. Two 50 K's and one 50 Miler.
None of the races were easy; it's always a struggle to get to the end no matter what's the distance.
No falls, no injuries, no bio problems. Just the usual demons that visit most runners on the last 1/3 of the race.
On the 50 miler, I paced a good buddy for the last 12 miles as he was struggling with more demons than I was. I learned a lesson in the process: Don't slow down too much as otherwise the body gets "cold," and it's impossible to get it moving at a good pace again. Do short sprints when tired to rev up the engine and run faster (easier said than done).
